WAVES OF CHANGE: THE FUTURE OF HYDROGEN MOBILITY IN COASTAL AREAS
As the maritime industry sets its sights on ways to decarbonize, hydrogen is emerging as a game-changing solution for powering and refueling small vessels such as yachts, ferries, and workboats. In 2024, the Monaco Hydrogen Alliance established the International Taskforce on Hydrogen Mobility in Coastal Areas (ITHCA)—which counts among its members some of the leading startups and established companies working on cutting-edge hydrogen technologies—to explore collaborative opportunities, discuss challenges, and accelerate the transition to zero-emission marine transport. The recently published white paper Waves of Change: The Future of Hydrogen Mobility in Coastal Areas offers a roadmap for collaboration, addressing key industry challenges, and charting the path to hydrogen-powered maritime transport.
